What is the working preparation for screw conveyor installation?

1.The screw conveyor foundation should be completed before installation for 20 days which will make the foundation secure and reliable,and will prevent screw conveyor from sinking and deformation to ensure screw conveyor with enough stability when running.
2.The casing installation should accord with following stipulation:
(1)Allowed longitudinal straightness error is 1/1000 of length,total length error is 3mm.
(2)Allowed horizontal straightness error is 1/5000 of width.
(3)The inner wall of the casing is equal to the two sides of the screw blade,and the error is allowed to be 2 mm,the bottom interval error is ±2 mm.
(4)The connection of casing should be closely,and no interval is allowed.
(5)The casing should be fully contacted with structure support.
3.Allowed overlap error of center line between shaft and bearing is 0.5mm.
4.There should be no apparent height difference between two adjacent casings.
5.Please adjust and steady casing before tightening foundation bolts.
6.Output shaft of driven device should be in the same axis line with screw conveyor shaft.
7.If the inlet and outlet need to be installed on site,please weld them after fixing the total machine.

1.Open the upper cover plate during conveyor running.

2.Do not clean the residual material timely after using conveyor .
If the residual material is sticky and corrosive, the blade and shaft will be corroded which will lead to a shorter service life.
3.Motor is overloaded heavily.
It can make motor temperature become too high even it will lead to motor overburning. Please control the feeding flow strictly, vibrating feeder will be a good choice.
4.Do not add lubricating oil for bearing.
The dust can make the lubricating oil become viscous, thus it will influence shaft rotating, so please add oil regularly.
5.The temperature of reducer is too high.
The reason is reducer lack of lubricating oil, please check the oil amount before conveyor running.
6.After shutting down the conveyor, the shaft is forced to stop rotating.
This behavior is very dangerous, it will harm the screw blade, shaft and motor. We should stop the screw conveyor naturally.

Lubrication of Screw Conveyor

The lubrication requirement of driving device, please see the product manual that issued by the supplier.
Oil in proper amount of 2# lubricating grease between cross slide coupling intermediate plate and half-coupling when shut down the screw conveyor.
The bearings inside the tail and head end of bearing seats should be lubricated with 3# calcium base grease, and change the grease every month.

The rolling bearing inside the hanging bearing should be lubricated with engine oil every week. Note: please not oil in lubricating grease to avoid squeezing the sealing ring outside the roiling ring away.

Above mentioned lubrication time is just the minimum requirements, detailed time should be flexible and depends on the operation condition.

Debugging of Screw Conveyor

All the hanging bearings of screw conveyor should be hanging on the connecting shaft reliably without stuck and bending of screw. When installation, adjusting the gaskets number of hanging bearing to make no gap in subdivision surface while a proper radial gap between bearings and connecting shaft.

Hanging bearing should be installed in the center of connecting shaft, the distance between end face and two screw pipes should be over 10mm when D≦400mm and over 20mm when D≧500mm.

To adjust the accumulative error between chassis and screw, there should be padding asbestos lining between the flange of the chassis when installation. Padding waterproof canvas between chassis and cover according to the requirements for sealing.

When the difference of center heights of driving gear reducer shaft at low speed and screw conveyor is too much, using the gaskets to adjust the height of driving unit.

When no-loading running, if there is oil leakage phenomenon, removing the bearing and adjusting the tightness of spring in sealing ring until no leakage.

When no-loading running, overheating of hanging bearing indicates the installation position of hanging bearing is improper which leads the locking of connecting shaft, there should be loosing the fasten bolt and adjusting the position of hanging bearing.

How to Clean the Remaining Material of the Screw Conveyor?

There are two kinds of screw conveyer : tubular type and trough type. According to different designs , the cleaning method is also different.

Tubular screw conveyor: it has two cleaning methods since the casing is a steel pipe: water injection cleaning and ventilation cleaning. Water injection cleaning means that inject a large amount of water at the inlet and wash the internal tube, flushing the remaining water out of screw conveyor. Ventilation cleaning which uses the air pump or fan to bring the air inside the tube and blow the material out of the tube. The two methods are very convenient to clean up the material inside the tube.

Trough screw conveyor: since the casing is trough type and there is cover plate on the trough casing, so please take down the fixed bolts when clean the material and remove the cover plate, then start to clean up the material. It is very easy to clean the kind of material, you can also clean it directly by air pump.

After completing operation of screw conveyor, a certain amount of material can not be discharged thoroughly, only when you make sure the machine stops running, you can start to clean the screw conveyor, otherwise there will be accident.

What Should We Note When Screw Conveyor Conveys Material?

Screw conveyor normally works in the environment which is full of dust, so the bearing also works in the dust which leads the bearing wears seriously, therefore lubrication on a regular basis is an essential job in our daily operation. In the process of conveying material, we must pay attention to the following six items:

1.When screw conveyor starts to convey materials, please increase the material gradually and evenly, don't feed the material to the rated capacity one time, otherwise it will cause blockage, driving device overloads and will short the service life of screw conveyor.
2.Make sure there are no materials with large block and hardness, otherwise the screw conveyor will be stuck by materials and damages.

3.Start up the screw conveyor without load, feed the materials after the screw conveyor starts up.
4.Shut down the screw conveyor when there is no material, stop feeding material before shutting down the screw conveyor.
5.Check equipment parts regularly, take protective measures in advance.
6.During operation, must not to take down the cover plate or it will cause so as not to cause personal injury.
